They will also have access to exam past papers and revision resources that they can use to practice each week. To get top grades in just 3 months, I ask students to demand a lot of themselves and commit to our consistent weekly schedule – this is how to get the results you want in such a short space of time!
When you sign up, the following things happen next:
You get an email within 24 hours confirming enrolment.
In 48 hours, you will have an online account with full access to our AQA GCSE Course – with over 100 hours of lessons so your child can get learning right away!
In 48 hours, you will receive a Zoom link that Barbara will use for the weekly classes. This link will enable your child to attend the Wednesdays and Friday GCSE lessons.
Before each lesson, you will receive an email with the exam paper that will be covered. All exam papers for Language Paper 1 and Paper 2 (2017 – 2023) will be covered – each week you will get at least 2 exam papers that will be covered in the class.

During the lesson, Barbara will show students what to answer as part of their homework and what lessons to watch from the course – before the next class.
Both, and every child in between! Barbara will encourage students to consistently ask questions, she will also follow up before each lesson to see what exam papers they would like to cover and most crucially – students won’t learn pointless things that don’t contribute to the final exam. The classes cut away the fluff and go straight into teaching students easy exam techniques and how to answer exam questions in a way that will impress their teachers and examiners!
Your child will get out the efforts they put in. As long as your child ensures they do not miss our weekly lessons and they maintain consistency in watching lessons and completing the set homework, they should begin to see dramatic improvements within 4 weeks of the exams. Remember the rate of improvement in grades is affected by many factors including the consistency of tutoring sessions, how far behind your child might be when online tutoring starts and their commitment. As long as they follow my suggestions – they will see dramatic changes pretty quickly!
Based on our clients' feedback, close to 100% of all our clients are very satisfied with the service. Read our Google reviews – we have 4.9 star ratings from over 100 students and parents!
Behind every successful student is a supportive parent. We expect your child to attend the online sessions and complete the work set independently. As a supportive parents, we suggest you check if they have completed their homework and give them gentle reminders of what they need to do. Beyond that, try as far as possible to encourage your child to complete their work by themselves.
Yes, getting a English GCSE tutor can help with exam preparation. A tutor can help students identify areas of weakness and develop strategies to improve. They can also help with revision by revisiting topics that the students find particularly difficult.
First Rate Tutors holds weekly lessons virtually to ensure flexibility and accessibility for all students.
It's never too early OR too late to start tutoring! The earlier in the academic year, the better. This can help increase the student's confidence early on. Getting help before your child’s mock exams can also be a great time to get started.

• reading a wide range of texts, fluently and with good understanding
• reading critically, and using knowledge gained from wide reading to inform and improve their
own writing
• writing effectively and coherently, using appropriate English
• using grammar correctly, punctuating and spelling accurately
